Jyotiraditya Scindia, long time congress ledader and union minister and a recent convert to the BJP and his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia on Tuesday tested positive for coronavirus.
The mother and son were admitted to Max Super Speciality hospital in Delhi’s Saket on Monday after they complained of throat irritation. They also had fever. No statement has been issued either by Max hospital or the Scindia family, agencies said.
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi tweeted: “Not so good news. Jyotiraditya Scindia and his mother have tested positive for corona, The former Cong turned BJP leader from MP has been admitted to hospital. Wish him a speedy recovery!”
Scindia, is a former Congress MP from Guna constituency in Madhya Pradesh but lost the last Lok sabha elections from his family’s one time fortress. In March this year he quit the Congress and joined the BJP whose candidate he is form for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal underwent COVID-19 test earlier today after he complained of sore throat and mild fever on Sunday afternoon.
The test report will probably come later tonight or by Wednesday morning.
