Kuhad Committee report Submitted, DU Examination Case to Be Heard On 30th July: Delhi HC

The Delhi High Court will be hearing various petitions in the Delhi University Examination matter on 30th July as the apex court is also hearing a similar matter and is listed for Tuesday.

A single-judge bench of Justice Pratibha M. Singh on Friday while hearing the petitions through video conferencing noted that the Kuhad Committee report has been submitted in a sealed envelope is being taken on record.

The bench was hearing several petitions filed with regards to the Delhi University Examination. Whereas SG Mr. Tushar Mehta informed the Court that UGC Guidelines are challenged in these petitions on various grounds.

The bench has listed the matter for Thursday, i.e. 30th July.

On which Advocate Shivankar Sharma appearing for the petitioner in a matter submitted that the Mock Tests are going to be started from 27th July. However, Senior Advocate Mr. Sachin Datta appearing for the Delhi University submitted that the Mock Test is going to be held in 2 phases and the first one will only including uploading and downloading.

Whereas, Justice Pratibha M. Singh stated that the order of this court dated 7th July, para 3, point (iv) should be implemented. “Mock should be same as that of final exams”, she added.

Mr. Sharma further added that there are 10 Lacs+ students who would be trying to send their answer sets through email might get stuck in between, what are the technical measures? There is just 1 email ID.

Whereas, Bench also observed that the measures are not in Circular. However, Mr. Sachin Datta submitted that everything will be taken care of.

Justice Pratibha noted that the facilities and features to be introduced in the mock tests are not fully implemented by DU. Mr. Datta submitted that he will take instructions on this and revert by Monday.

The court has decided to list the matter for the particular issue on Monday i.e 27th July.

The court has also issued notice CEO of CSC Academy, Mr. Dinesh Tyagi to check the preparedness for conducting exams of students outside Delhi. The Court has asked Mr. Datta and Mr. Rupal to take instructions as to whether there are other Pvt. Players involved in this.
